Designer and creative director Caroline De Cuyper challenges the boundaries of the functional over the artistic in her projects. In a new collaboration with painter Pablo Piatti, she shows that a piece of furniture can also be a work of art and that paintings don't just belong on the wall. She had two of her T02 coffee tables painted by Piatti, resulting in a set of expressive pièces uniques.
The Bauhaus-inspired T02 coffee table has a recess in the middle that doesn't have to be purely functional but also symbolises the open conversations you have around the table. For the intangible things you throw in and take out.
For the Mowgli Hope Green coffee table, one corner was painted with a waterfall in shades of blue and green. Caroline: ‘You can look at a waterfall for hours. I have the same feeling with this work. You discover something new every time, in the colour palette or inside yourself.’

Material: coated MDF wood surface is painted and finished with epoxy
Dimensions: 90 x 32.5 x 150 cm. The cavity has a diameter of 40 cm.
