Caroline De Cuyper's new carpet AP Slice is inspired by the organic shapes, lines and colour palette of a purple agate stone. Just as an agate stone has several layers, the carpet reflects the layering of our personality through an interplay of high-pile and low-pile lines and layers.
To create these subtle depths, Caroline, in collaboration with Portuguese carpet manufacturer Ferreira de Sá, chose a yarn mix of mohair and meadow wool, bamboo and silk, and a combination of different hand-knotted techniques. The result is a carpet that not only mimics the natural beauty of the agate stone, but is also a symbolic reference to the complexity of our personality.
AP Slice is available in three sizes:
